Welcome to my Blog!

Hi! I'm a photographer located in Southern California. I am very passionate about what I do. I love capturing a moment in time that will be a memory forever. Portraits of my family, friends, vacations and life experiences are my treasures. I feel honored to capture these moments for you and your family. My goal is to be your one and only photographer. I want to capture your treasured moments with your family throughout the years. I am so thankful to have clients that I now call lifetime friends.

The most important thing to me is my family and friends. I cherish the time I get to spend with them. I live in Orange County with my dog, Mr Sniffle Snuggles. Most people just call him Mr. I love the simple things in life. I laugh, a lot, and most people say too loudly.... I am a horrible cook but I'm really trying to work on that :-)

I just completed my second year in business :-) Wow, where does the time go? I am determined to take the photography industry by storm or make an edible homemade Mac and Cheese. Which ever comes first.....

Please make sure to bookmark this page and come visit from time to time. I will post updated photography, introduce you to new friends "clients", keep you updated on new happenings in my life and what ever random things I think you might find interesting.

See you soon,

L

Amazing Hair Stylist Located In Huntington Beach!

I just wanted to share the wealth with the world. I think its unfair if I don’t tell everyone about Cat. She is the best hair stylist! Just recently she was kind enough to donate a haircut, deep condition and a blow out to the Bella Foto Workshop on August 29th. Kristy Espino was the lucky winner! Cat works at the prestigious City Salon on Main st in Huntington Beach :-) She does cuts, color, color correction, smoother, and extension and that is open for appointments 7 days a week.  The Salon # is 714-969-1800.

salon profile 1

Cat is an Ohio State graduate with a BA in psychology. Her background is part of what makes her perfect behind the chair as a hairdresser. She is able to help her clients get creative and feel at their best. Cat’s goal as a stylist is to make her clients feel good about themselves both inside and out. She thinks of herself as working in an industry that she loves and she strives to share that with each and every client. She uses her skill and knowledge of her craft as a tool to help others achieve their personal best. A team player at heart, she is always willing to lend a hand to make the salon a great place to visit. She wants to be a successful individual inside a thriving business. Even though she was born in North Carolina, she loves calling Huntington Beach home because of its energy and awesome weather.

When you book your appointment with Cat tell her I said hi!

Jason, Huntington Beach, Ca

My little Brother Jason just recently turned 23! Wow, I just realized I can’t continue to claim I’m 24 years old if my younger brother passes me in age……  I guess he’ll just have to be 23 forever :-)

Jay came down to spend some time with me on his birthday. We like to bond over sushi. We challenge each other to see who can handle the most wasabi and saracha. Ya, I know, not such a smart way to enjoy your food but, thats how we roll. We had such a great time.

I’m so lucky to have the relationship I do with my brother. I love him so much! I enjoy my brother :-) Not everyone can say they actually enjoy their siblings. Jason is so talented. I love reading his stories and hearing about the ideas he comes up with. I think its kinda funny and awesome that I find myself coming to my baby brother for advice. He always leads me in the right direction and helps take my worries away.

I thought it would be a great way to document the weekend by taking a couple birthday portraits of him. Normally I have to twist his arm to get him to take a picture and if he is reluctant enough to give in and take the picture he makes a silly face. Here are the images we got. He is soooo handsome!!!!

Rolling Down the river :-)

This blog is a little late, but better than never right?

A few weeks ago  I was in Montana for the Bella Foto Workshop. My photo BFF Tracy Thompson and her hubby Matt took me fly fishing. I had the best time! I actually caught a fish! It was the coolest thing. I can’t remember if I caught the fish first or myself… Yes I said myself. I was so worried about catching my hook on Tracy and Matt. I guess I should have payed a little more attention to not hooking myself. I laughed so hard I almost cried. Matt had to unhook me.

Some how we forgot the anchor so we would tie the raft up or lodge it on some rocks while we all got out and fished. That worked great until one time apparently we didn’t get it stuck enough. We were all fishing when Tracy yell that our raft was rolling down the river with out us! Poor Matt. He had to run down the river a head of the raft to swim across and catch it. Now its a funny story. Then it was terrifying. We were all alone half way down the river and as you all know I’m not the bestest swimmer…  But Matt saved the day.

When we got off the river Tracy and I were filled with energy and decided to Karaoke to every song on the radio, at the top of our lungs.

All in all we had an amazing time. I look forward to doing it again.

Here are some snap shots of our day rolling down the river :-)

The Bella Foto Workshop!

We did it!

It was Amazing!

We rocked it!

There I was in Montana, standing in the middle of the meeting room. I was filled with excitement. Tracy and I had worked our booties off to get to this day.

I couldn’t have asked for the day to be more perfect. Our attendees where absolutely amazing. They were all so sweet and thirsted for knowledge. We all had a great time. By the end of the workshop the girls were asking when the next class was going to be.

Tracy took the time to visit local salons and business to get special prizes for the attendees. It was so exciting when the girls won prizes. We had over $1500 worth of giveaways.

It was a great feeling to have a room full of people who all value photography and wanted to learn how to photograph and document their families the best way possible. I am so excited for the next workshop :-)

Here are some images that were taken at the last workshop.

Playing catch-up

Last week was a  whirlwind of controlled chaos :-) I flew into Billings, Montana on Friday the 16th. From the moment I arrived Tracy and I were on a mission! We were determined to make the very first Bella Foto Workshop a huge success. Let me just say, it wasn’t the easiest job….

We ran everywhere and by everywhere I mean EVE-RY-WHERE. We started by visiting the venue. We realized we had some work a head of us to vamp the place up. Then we had to get the books printed for the attendees. That was a pain in the butt in itself. The first place we went to wouldn’t have them done in time. The second place was under construction because of the tornado that just raised havoc in Billings. The third place seemed to be the one, until the computer wouldn’t recognize the cord to my hard drive (where all the information was). We were across town and they needed us to then email the info. Without a computer in hand that caused a bump in the road. Thank goodness for Tracy’s amazing husband! He was able to jump on her computer and save the day by getting the info to the printing center. Then we proceeded to pick up gifts that were donated, (all over town). That sort of chaos continued until the late hours of the night.

I woke up Saturday morning with a sore throat. A sore throat! A day before the workshop where I was to be speaking in front of a room full of people for hours. I was terrified. We did the last minute errands then headed home to do a mock workshop. We called it a early night and decided we better both get our butts in bed and rest up for the big event.

I will be blogging all about the workshop and include some pictures soon :-) But for now, let me just say it was amazing!

Meet our workshop attendees!!! {Bella Foto Workshops}

Our workshop will start in just over 12 hours and Tracy and I are giddy with excitement!! We cannot wait to meet all the fab momma’s that are coming!

We have lots of surprises in store… see you all tomorrow! Blog posts to follow on how the workshop went!

Bobby and Christina

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Bobby and Christina. You may recognize Christina from a previous blog, The Yumminess That Is Christina. This photo shoot was so much fun. As you can tell by the images below they were both very comfortable being in front the camera. It was so nice to watch the interaction between the two of them. The love just exudes when they are around each other. Bobby and Christina met years ago when they both work for the same store in the mall. Christina said there was an attraction from the start but she really knew there was something there when he held the dust pan for her when she had to sweep up the store. He was a gentleman from the start. I love the images below because you can look at them and feel the love that they have for each other.
